Connection Groups  FALL 2011

The purpose of Wednesday evening Growth & Connection Night is to facilitate the process of moving people to the "next level" in their spiritual growth. Wednesday evening is not about programs as much as it is about creating an environment where people can deepen and grow in their commitment to Jesus Christ and service in the local church.

New Connection Groups are starting throughout now and in the month of September. Find a group that fits you and embark on a life journey with other believers. It is God’s design for us to “do life” together, so join a connection group and build relationships at the same time.

Life Groups are an excellent opportunity to connect with a small group of people and “do life together.” These groups meet throughout the week and run for most of the year. Their main goal is to connect people and build relationships while studying God’s word. There are so many great testimonies that have come from these groups. Please take the time to try one out. If the first one does not work, that is okay. Try another one. Our heart is that you connect where you feel comfortable.

Ackerman's Life Group

Family Connection Group

Interested in getting together with other families? Interested in doing fun things while building relationships with your family and with others? Starting this year we will be meeting for some family fun activities where you can connect, have fun, and make new and lasting friendships.

Men to Men - For Men Only
 
1st and 3rd Saturday of each month

This group is all about men of God serving, socializing and holding one another accountable. We take time to stop and listen to what our heavenly Father has planned for us as the Spirit leads. Each of us are unique, and yet the same; we are all children of God.  We use GPS – connection with God, People, and Service - as the foundation of our group. We believe that as we grow and practice Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding,” not only will our own lives be enriched, but we will also impact the lives of generations to come.

This group of ladies meets in order to edify, encourage, and exhort one another in walking as spiritual women. Their purpose is to glorify their adoring Heavenly Father by living lives of excellence.

Twentyninebelow is for young adults 19-29 years old. We are here to REACH OUT, TRAIN, and EMPOWER today’s young generation for Jesus Christ and to prepare them for life. We meet Saturday nights and talk about relevant topics such as time management, relationships, and financial planning. Women's Stepping Forward

  Stepping Forward is a fellowship of emotional and spiritual healing. With the Word of God as our foundation, we have come to believe that the 12-step process of recovery will guide us in recovering from the life controlling and crippling issues that enslave us.

Senior Care Ministry

Location: Parkside at Westminster – An Independent Senior Community – 3929 West 38th Street, Erie PA 16506

This group provides love and care for those at Parkside Senior Living Community through a monthly fellowship service. They have a heart for serving and ministering, through sharing God’s Word to those that are unable to travel to Sunday service.

Passionate about prayer? Want to join other believers and intercede for the church, the community, the country, and the world. These groups truly move mountains. Come and see that the Lord is good.

This team has the great privilege of praying with people during the corporate worship services. They pray with people for healing, salvation, agreement, and baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Hospital Visitation Team

This team has the great privilege of going out and ministering to people in the hospital and those that are sick. Their goal is to pray with people and bring encouragement through a smiling face and the Word of God. They also help coordinate meals for people who have just had surgery.

Funeral Dinner Team
Coordinator – Cheryl Stauffer
 
The passing of a loved one is a very difficult time. As a church we are committed to easing the burden on the grieving family by providing a dinner reception following the funeral services for the family and their guests. This touches the hearts of people in a wonderful and practical way.

Greeting / Welcome Team
Coordinators – Mike and Barb Partchey
 
This team is the face of Erie Christian Fellowship. They are there as you come in the door to welcome you with a smile, and to answer any question you might have about the church. Do you love to smile and greet others, welcoming them into your “home?” This is truly a team full of hospitality. They know how to show love to people, and to communicate warmth welcoming people with a smile.

First Connection Team

This team connects with first time guests and visitors. Their role is to make phone calls, answer questions and to give those who are new all the information needed to connect with others at ECF Church.

Security Team
Coordinators – Don Weaver
 
This team serves behind the scenes. Their job is to ensure our safety, making sure we have every opportunity to enjoy the service.

Audio/Video Team
Coordinators – Rich Hornaman
 
This team of computer savvy, technical experts with a musical ear serves each week by providing a top notch audio and visual experience on Sunday morning and on Wednesday night services.

Ushers Team

This team greets us with a smile, helps us find a seat, and helps us with anything that we need. They truly usher our church family and guests into the sanctuary with warmth and helpful hands ready to serve. This team has a passion for making sure our time at church is enjoyable.

Security Team

This team serves behind the scenes. Their job is to ensure our safety, making sure we have every opportunity to enjoy the service.

Café Team / Hospitality Team

This team serves each week as people connect together before and after the service. This team also cooks on Wednesday nights and prepares and coordinates all the food for most events happening at ECF Church.

Deaf Ministry Team

This team has the awesome responsibility of translating the songs, announcements, and sermons to those that are hearing impaired.

Mothers of Blessing
Coordinator – Nova Dinsmore
 
This team coordinates and cooks meals for families with new babies. Having a new baby is a time of celebration and transition. This team provides meals to bless new moms allowing her to focus on her family.
