We could live under a military or political dictator where fear and terror reigned. The alternative is our Representative Republic where we are privileged to choose who will lead. Today we will weigh in on leadership from God’s perspective and also hear the unique perspective of civic leadership from a former Erie County Executive, Mr. Rick Schenker.

Description: As Christians we are citizens of two worlds. Our primary identity is found in the kingdom of God through Jesus Christ. Second, we are citizens of this planet and specifically American citizens. Our privilege and responsibilityis to exercise our citizenship rights in both worlds. The challenge we often face is to determine to what extent those responsibilities extend.

Today we will examine the Scriptures with an aim to become more effective citizens of both worlds!

Description: Jesus once asked his disciples what the word on the street was about him. “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man am”, asks Jesus in Matthew 16:13.

Jesus did not make this inquiry in order to check up on his PR ratings. Rather, he acknowledged that there were many opinions floating around regarding his personhood. What really counted was for people to see him as the promised Messiah and by faith to confess him as Lord!

As Lord, Jesus is certainly qualified to teach! Today, our portrait of Christ is on his teaching ministry and the importance hearing his words.

Jesus is our perfect representative because he fully partakes of our humanity while he fully maintains his divinity!

Believer, knowing our Representative in Christ, we are assured of victory now and glory hereafter!
